THANK YOU for your support of St. Michael School at #weGiveCatholic on Tuesday, December 1, 2020

BECAUSE OF YOU WE ARE MAKING SOME BIG TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES!

Please join us on December 1st, for #weGiveCatholic on Giving Tuesday, and help St. Michael School  purchase technology upgrades for our teachers and classrooms at both campuses!  HOTSPOTS to improve internet connections in each classroom (particularly beneficial to our asynchronous learners), as well as faster and more advanced LAPTOPS for our teachers, so they can be using the most up to date computers and apps to connect with their new classroom technology.

Understand when we say our intention is not to move to a fully virtual environment. In a world inundated with technology and electronic devices, St. Michael School values the opportunity to learn in a physical classroom, to see God in the world around us and one another, away from our screens - and we will continue to take advantage of those opportunities.

That said, with countless educational online resources, improved technology provides the opportunity to enhance traditional teaching opportunities. Our teachers can use different apps and trusted online resources to enhance the traditional ways of teaching and to keep students more engaged - through learning games - as well as utilize the convenience of virtual lesson plans, grading software and online assessments to help them save a lot time.

This valuable time can be dedicated to working with students who may need additional assistance mastering a new area of study. What is more, having virtual learning environments in schools enhances collaboration and knowledge sharing between students and between teachers.

We appreciate your partnership with us in making our classrooms a space where each student can meet his or her potential, by being set up to succeed in an environment that can meet every need. Your support makes this dream a reality, and sets up our teachers for continued and improved success in the classroom. Thank you!

Some Additional Notes on helping make Donations

DONOR CHALLENGE GIFT: This is when every donation received within specific parameters (time; amount threshold, etc.) is matched by a Donor, that has pledged to make a significant financial contribution. The match could be 1:1, 2:1, and so forth, but the premise is that every donation made by a Supporter is doubled or more. These campaigns will have a goal (e.g. say $10,000), and if $10,000 is contributed by Supporters everyday donors, the Challenge Donor will match whatever amount has been agreed upon.  So $5,000 in donations now becomes $10,000 ... $10,000 would become $20,000, etc. If this is a gift you would like to consider, please contact us! Challenge gifts can be made in advance of, or following, the date of the event.

PEER TO PEER FUNDRAISING: A P2P fundraiser is a supporter who rallies around our cause to fundraise on our behalf. These supporters create their own fundraising page as a spin off of our main #wegivecatholic profile. Our fundraisers will share that page with their network to expand the reach of our cause and bring in new donors. If you are passionate about the work we do, and use your voice to make a difference and contact us about setting up a page!

CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS: Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees?  And that some companies will even match to spouses and retirees? By simply asking your employer, you may be able to double, or even triple, the impact of your gift!  Contributions of any amount help us continue to upgrade our facilities and provide a variety of opportunities for our students. Contact your employer to see if they participate, and then contact us to let us know!

MAJOR GIFTS: Perhaps you would like to make a gift that has the capability of fulfilling a major part of our project. If so, please contact Principal Yvonne Saunders at 216-524-6405 or yvonne.saunders@stmichaelschoolinfo.com to discuss your gift, as well as opportunities for recognition. Thank you!
