We have been educating students for almost 150 years!
CHRIST is the reason for this school.

Founded in 1872, St. Michael School works in partnership with parents to:

  • provide each child the opportunity to grow according to his/her needs

  • build the value of service to others

  • enhance the development of responsible members of the parish community.

St. Michael School and St. Basil the Great Parish developed a partnership over 20 years ago that allows our younger students to be taught at the Early Education Center at St. Basil in Brecksville. The center is home to the St. Michael preschool, Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade. Grades 2 through 8 are located at the Main Campus in Independence.

"Be it known to all who enter St. Michael School that Christ is the reason for this school.  He is the unseen but ever present teacher in its classrooms.  He is the model of its faculty and the inspiration of its students."
