Dear St. Michael Family Members and Community,

We have some exciting new developments at St. Michael School - we are installing a new playground system at the Main Campus! This new playground system will enhance and complement our existing set, with a focus on our youngest “new” students to the main campus. Additionally, we will be adding a brand new gaga ball pit – an exciting game that has exploded in popularity around camps and playgrounds around the country. Our middle school students will be excited for this as well. That said, these important improvements are only made possible through the generosity of our St. Michael Community.

The first phase of these upgrades included the demolition and removal of the home adjacent to the current playground. We would like to thank DiGeronimo Companies, Kurtz Brothers, and the City of Independence, for all of their work in making this home removal possible. This first phase would have cost the church approximately $20,000, but because of the generosity of these companies, all work was completed as an In-Kind donation. Thank you DiGeronimo and Kurtz Families for all your work and attention to our campus. We are grateful!

The second phase of this project includes procuring and purchasing the matching playground system and gaga ball pit (seen in the photo below). We have estimated that this will cost approximately $25,000, and I am excited to share that due to the tremendous generosity of our St. Michael Community, we have quickly raised more than $25,000 in just 2 weeks!

If you are able and feel called to make a gift to this playground, please click here and consider making a donation by end of day, July 16th. We will have an outdoor commemorative recognition plaque installed near the playground systems to thank all those who contribute to this project. If you would like to specifically name this new annex to the playground, or the gaga ball pit, please reach out to Ms. Saunders directly for naming opportunity levels. Any money raised above this goal, will be applied to the next physical upgrade project at the school, as it emerges.

Thank you for always rising to the occasion. Your continued generosity helps St. Michael School remain a great educational institution; one we look forward to welcoming our students back to again in August! Stay healthy & be well.

Sincerely,

Rev. John J. Mullee

Pastor, St. Michael Parish
